Meet The Wine Maker

Join us on Thursday 24th April 2025 for an evening of food and wine, hosted by Francois Haasbroek, founder and winemaker at Blackwater Wines.

The evening will feature a five-course menu, each dish thoughtfully paired with a selection of Blackwater’s wines, chosen to highlight the subtle nuances of their craftsmanship paired with our farm-to-fork ethos.

Francois will guide guests through the pairings, sharing insights into his winemaking philosophy, the vineyards he works with, and the stories behind each bottle.

Blackwater Wines is built on a foundation of respect for the land and a commitment to minimal intervention, allowing the quality of the fruit to speak for itself. Sourcing grapes from some of the finest vineyards across the Western Cape, Francois creates wines that are pure, expressive, and true to their origin. His approach is simple: no unnecessary winemaking tricks, just meticulous attention to detail and a deep respect for the process.

This will be a rare opportunity to experience exceptional South African wines, thoughtfully paired with a seasonal menu on the farm.
